May 6th 08 - Meet ANSAR - a group of people committed to maintaining and fostering friendships.
Dr Oluwakemi Linda Banks, Mr Carlson Connor of The Anguilla Progressive Association in New York and DJ Sparky joined the conversation to inform listeners about The Association ANSAR and about the upcoming reunion.
ANSAR stands for The Anguilla Nevis St Kitts Associations Reunion and every two years they organize a 3 day get-together of individuals and organizations of nationals of Anguilla and St. Kitts & Nevis together with their families and friends resident anywhere in the world.
The Event Serves as a Forum to:
· renew and strengthen old friendships
· provide an opportunity to participate in workshops, seminars, panels with topics of cultural, social and economic concerns
· foster the development of contacts and networking
· advertise or promote your business, local and overseas
The Reunion is open to all nationals of Anguilla, and St. Kitts & Nevis, together with their families and friends and is billed as a non-sectarian, non-partisan, and non-political event.
ANSAR serves as a forum to renew and strengthen old relationships and create new friendships. It also fosters the development of contacts and networking and provides opportunities to participate in a number of collaborative activities.
Dr. Banks spoke on the need to keep friendships alive since so many of Anguillians, Nevisians and Kittitians are depply comnnected through strong family ties.
Special mention was also made about the ANSAR market place which is held during the reunion; where persons get the opportunity to showcase products and foods off their respective islands.
The general public is encouraged to join in on this celebration reunion this year since it will be held on the island of St.Kitts.
The Grand ANSAR celebration begins on Friday June 20th - Sunday June 22nd 2008
