Anguilla's master entertainer and singer Darvin Mussington joined the conversation to give his take on the music of Anguilla.
Darvin is the lead singer for the band The Mussington Brothers and had so much to say about the culture and music and life on the island. He agreed that Soca seems to be the genre that has taken firm root and become the most important form of dance music on Anguilla.
Darvin is known as a versatile entertainer who listens to his audience and really knows how to get the party on. He switches easily from reggae to R&B, meringue, zouk, and even rock and roll.
The Mussington Brothers is one of the Caribbean's finest and undoubtedly Anguilla's most prominent international band. They are famous in the Caribbean and performed in places like the U.S. and The British Virgin Islands, St. Maarten, St. Martin, Saba, St. Eustatius, St.Kitts-Nevis and Dominica. They have also appeared with other top Caribben soca bands like Krosfyah, Atlantik, Burning Flames, Square One, Byron Lee & The Dragonnaires and reggae artists Burning Spear, Sean Paul and Sizzla.
At home in Anguilla, the band has captured the Bandorama title and the road march titles on numerous occasions.
For sure, the Mussington Brothers feel proud, strong and free as they occupy the pinnacle of music in Anguilla and stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in the Caribbean.
Because of the Mussington Brothers the standard of music in Anguilla has been lifted to new heights. Most people would agree that they blazed the trail so that others could follow.
