February 6th 2008 - Tribute to Bob...Robert Nesta Marley - What a show this was! Host Bree, was joined by Farrah Banks, Ginette Benjamin, and Ras Iration I. The mood in the studio of Radio AXA was joyous and melodious...the life, and times and the music of this great Rastafari Artist was explored in every way.
Farrah is such a huge Bob Marley fan and she has a vast collection of his music. Ginette was a welcome addition to the show, and she brought along with her a special tribute poem to The late great singer and Rastafari prophet. Ras Iration was powerful in his approach...and reminded listeners to be aware and be conscious of the message Marley was trying to convey.
The listeners were not to be left and and they called in and talked about what Marley meant to them; and also mentioned their favorite Marley songs. Caller Ijahnya was quite passionate as she talked about what Marley and his message of consciuosness means to her.
The hour went by quickly, but listeners got more than a treat when Bree, Farrah, Ginette, and Ras Iration all joined in on one of Marley's popular songs.
The fact of the matter is that although Bob Marley has made his transition over 24 years ago, Bob Marley’s quotes still reflect in current life, economic and political situations. Bob Marley’s quotes are by no means archaic references but still speak with a great amount of relevance to the human condition and possible solutions for a future that hoped for but did not live to see.
If I were stranded on an island with only one choice of music, I would most definitely pick Bob's music. There is not now, nor has there ever before been, a musical artist that spoke, by, for, and of the people, so righteously. Bob addresses what ails the common human, the everyday human; all humans, everywhere. Bob not only tears up the misconceptions about what's wrong in the world, he reveals to us all how we can right the wrongs...So...R.I.P. Robert Nesta Marley...singer, songwriter, guitarist and Rastafari prophet...Bob Marley...
